Bristol Breakfasts: Best Places to Host That Morning Meeting

Travelling down to Bristol for a meeting? We have the best places you can go for breakfast or brunch with your client. Bristol has some wonderful cafés and restaurants, so they’re bound to be impressed by both the food and location.

Rosemarino - Clifton Village

Your client will love their breakfast if you take them to the Rosemarino. It’s an award-winning venue, having been named the winner of the Best Breakfast category at the Bristol Good Food Awards in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2018. This Italian restaurant and café is owned by Mirco, Sam and Tony who insist on using only the finest ingredients. They make their products in-house, use local suppliers and buy in speciality items directly from Italy.

There is plenty of choice on their breakfast menu which is split into three categories – Breakfast Legends, Our Classics and Light Bites. Their Tommy’s 1 Pan meal is legendary in Bristol and is certainly special. It has ham hock, chopped sausage, onions, mushrooms and potatoes, which are sautéed in one pan with two eggs cracked on top, melted cheese and toasted focaccia.

The Bristolian - Montpelier

For a chilled-out meeting, The Bristolian Café on Picton Street could be just the ticket. The menu mightn’t be as extensive as some other cafes, but it does cater for meat-eaters, vegetarians and vegans. On a sunny day, why not choose an outside table and enjoy being surrounded by beautiful flowers and plants?

We highly recommend the Bristolian Fusion with its free-range eggs, local free-range chorizo, minty yoghurt, spicy salsa, flatbread, garlic mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, sesame infused spinach and crispy potatoes.

Wellbourne – The Mall

If you want to treat your clients to an extra special, indulgent brunch, head to the Wellbourne. There is a wonderful atmosphere and the food and service are exceptional. The ingredients are of the highest quality and locally sourced. They make their own breads every day and cure their own bacon… it’s not to be missed.

For a breakfast with a difference, try the hot smoked mackerel with wild horseradish on homemade crumpets. The Wellbourne is famous for its muffins and they’re served with the eggs benedict and eggs Florentine.

Broken Dock – Millennium Promenade

Take a walk along Bristol’s iconic harbourside and visit the Broken Dock. Your client will love the location, especially if you sit outside and admire the S.S Great Britain and Ashton Court. On colder (or rainy) days the restaurant is still fantastic as it’s an intimate space.

The food is cooked to order and everything is locally sourced. They do a fantastic continental breakfast which consists of goat’s curd, smoked applewood and blue with serrano ham, salsa, smoked butter and sourdough. Their harissa spiced scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and herb toast is simply unforgettable.

At the Well - Cheltenham Road

For something a bit different, you should hold your meeting At the Well. It’s totally unique; a café and a laundrette all in one. The owners focus on doing simple food well and their pancakes are out-of-this-world. They cater for everyone, so if you’re vegan, vegetarian, gluten free or dairy free don’t worry - there will be plenty to choose from on the menu.

Why not try a blueberry and ginger detox smoothie with your breakfast? The coffee is roasted 25 minutes away by Extract Coffee Roasters and they buy their fruit and vegetables from the local grocers. This is a café with heart and if you try it once, you’re bound to come back for more next time you’re in Bristol.

We wish you well with your meeting and hope that our guide has opened your eyes to some of Bristol’s hidden gems.
