Dog Friendly Cities for a Weekend Break

Dogs are part of the family, so finding somewhere for them to stay while you enjoy a trip away can be difficult. Don’t let worrying about your little companion cause worry – some excellent hotels in the UK will welcome your pet so you can take them along!

1. Brighton
First up on our list is Brighton, East Sussex. A stunning seaside city with a beautiful pier, beachfront and plenty of great spots for walks, Brighton is a fantastic location for a family weekend break and ideal for bringing the dog along. 

Dogs are permitted on any of Brighton’s beautiful beaches from the start of October to the end of April, and on selected beaches for the rest of the year. So, you can enjoy days out splashing amongst the waves, playing on the sand or strolling the famous promenade with the whole family. 

Alongside its unrivalled beaches, Brighton is also home to several gorgeous green spaces for you to explore during your trip. Head to 63-acre Preston Park in the heart of the city, or to the vast Stanmer Park.

2. Edinburgh

With 630 acres of hills, vast parklands to explore, and even a summit to climb, you can let your dog off their lead to explore. 

Another favourite dog-walking spot right in the heart of the city is the beautiful Inverleith Park, which boasts tree-lined avenues, vast of parkland, and stunning views of Edinburgh's skyline. 

A short journey out of the city centre will take you to the shore – Edinburgh is home to some truly stunning beaches. The sandy suburb of Portobello Beach is just three miles outside central Edinburgh, a fantastic spot for dog walking.

3. Liverpool

If you’re looking for a scenic riverside walk, Liverpool has plenty. Otterspool Park offers fantastic views of the River Mersey along its promenade, as well as wooded parklands just waiting to be explored.
