Weddings at Walton Hall

Regency style in Shakespeare country: Weddings at Walton Hall Hotel

Looking for a wedding venue with dramatic backdrops and a quintessentially British style? Look no further than Walton Hall Hotel and Spa. Walton Hall weddings offer a 15th Century manor house that has every amenity you could need and ample photo opportunities for the happy couple too

Imagine your guests driving down a tree-lined driveway, the summer sun glittering through the branches overhead as a dramatic 15th Century building rises ahead of them, ushering them into a scene that could be straight out of a Jane Austen novel. What’s more, this vision of a venue is all yours for the day, with no interlopers or eavesdroppers in sight. Welcome to Walton Hall, where Austen meets Shakespeare and where your dream wedding is born.

The day before

Traditionally, the wedding couple don’t spend the night before their nuptials together. Instead, this has become the night for time with their respective families. If you’re planning on spending the night before at Walton Hall – thus avoiding any last-minute rushes to the service – it’s easier than you’d think to stay out of each other’s sight, with 26 acres of grounds, 197 bedrooms and two bars (one for you and one for your partner). Dine with your family and friends in the Orangery, which can cater for vegetarians and those who need Halal or gluten-free food.

The big day

Wedding nerves can make the hours leading up the event seem never-ending, but Walton Hall has plenty of ways to help you relax and set your mind at ease. Enjoy breakfast in your room, gazing out at the luscious green grounds that stretch out beneath your window. Alternatively, go for a swim to clear your mind, enjoy some spa treatments and then gather with friends and family for breakfast and chat over last-minute plans.

The ceremony

Weddings at Walton Hall can take place in either the beautiful and oh-so grand Moncrieffe Room or the stunning, historic Church of St James Walton D’Eivile. The Church of England chapel is only a few steps from Walton Hall and is a Grade II Listed building, while the Moncrieffe Room is licensed for civil ceremonies. Either venue offers the opportunity to walk down the hall’s stunning staircase from your room to where you’ll be married, which is both a wonderful photo opportunity and a moment to feel like you’ve stumbled into a movie.

Photos

Walton Hall offers so many beautiful spots for your wedding photos, from the front of the chapel to the lake, and from the tree-lined driveway to the pretty arches at the side of the hall itself. It’s a photographer’s dream. Be sure to keep your guests entertained while you tick off every stunning photo opportunity.

The party

Now that you’re married and have had your romantic shots around the grounds, it’s time for the party to get started. Your options are numerous at Walton Hall. You can start things with a drinks reception and canapés before heading to one of our rooms for the wedding breakfast or dinner and, of course, the speeches. There are six rooms available for your banquet, ranging in capacity from 27 to 170. The hotel’s wedding planner can help you choose the best room for your plans.

There’s also a master of ceremonies available, if you haven’t given the task to someone in your wedding party. For food, you can use the hall’s in-house catering team or bring your own, and there are also facilities for a hog roast or barbecue as either the main meal or to feed a bigger crowd later in the evening.

The hotel is also equipped to host a live band for your entertainment, should you wish, and there’s a black and white chequered dance floor for those wanting to strut their stuff in style.

Our site has all the information you’ll need to book Walton Hall as your wedding venue.
