Known as the Cultural and Islamic Capital of the Arab world, Sharjah is definitely a place to visit. The emirate is the third largest in the United Arab Emirates, and is the only emirate to share its border with all other six emirates!

Sharjah is a leading tourist destination in the region, with plenty of families from all over the world and the Gulf looking for a great safe place to spend a quiet weekend of explore authentic Arabian culture. We’ve listed out a few of our favourite things to do in Sharjah.
Ride an Abra
One of the best ways to get in touch with nature and just get a feel of authentic Arabian life is to take a ride around the lagoon on an ‘abra’, or traditional boat.
Ride the ‘Eye of the Emirates’
The Eye of the Emirates is a giant ferris wheel and tallest observation deck of its kind in the region. Each of the 42 cabins are fully air-conditioned and visitors can enjoy the breath-taking view of Sharjah’s glory including skyscrapers, scenery and the pristine lagoon.
Learn Science
The Sharjah Science Museum is one of the best of its kind in the region. The museum offers plenty of edutainment activities, workshops and seminars. People of all ages visit and take part in the games and just have a fun day out.
Visit an Aquarium
Take a trip down the deep blue sea, while staying completely dry! The Sharjah Aquarium is home to over 150 species of aquatic animals and is the UAE’s first and largest government educational centre.
Go to the park
Most people expect Sharjah to be full of sand and barren land, however there are plenty of parks and gardens around the city. Parks in Sharjah have been designed with families and children in mind, with plenty of activities and games. There are special days for just families and are very safe. Some popular parks in the emirate include Al Jazeera Park, Al Majaz Park and Green Belt Park.
