THE SECURITY DIRECTORATE'S POLICE MUSEUM

Ismailia

Salah Salem St., Al-Afareng

Forming a part of the Ismailia Security Directorate, located within the Suez Canal city of Ismailia, the Police Museum has a fine collection of weapons and firearms that were used by the Egyptian auxiliary police in the battle against the British troops during the British occupation of Ismailia during 1951-52. The two-day Anglo-Egyptian conflict took place in the outskirts of Suez, and a variety of police armour and artillery used in the conflict tell a distinctive story of their aid in withdrawal of British troops and the resulting end of the war.
