Goosebumps
Until the 1950s, all the governors of the state of Minas Gerais lived in the elegant Palácio de Liberdade located in the city centre. Suddenly, the household was moved to the Mangabeiras neighbourhood. Why? Out of fear. It is said that a certain Maria Papuda, who had lost her home in the construction of the palace, had cursed its inhabitants. Juscelino Kubitschek and Tancredo Neves, both former presidents of Brazil, died not long after moving in. If that story leaves you unmoved, you can tour the 30 rooms of the palace.Palácio da Liberdade, Rua Thomé de Souza, 1332 - Funcionários, Belo Horizonte
