THE ITALIAN ART IN THE SÉ CHURCH

Sao Paulo

Praça da Sé square - Sé

It's amazing how old churches are full of art! Catedral da Sé, for instance, impresses with its furniture, mosaics, sculptures, size, and history, after all, everything was brought from Italy by ship many, many years ago. The details have a Gothic style, including the hall under the altar. The organ, a musical instrument, came from Milan and is the largest in South America, with 5 manual keyboards and around 12,000 tubes. Beautiful to see! The access is easy, right in the centre of São Paulo, landmark zero, and next to the underground. There's no mistaking it.
