Wat Traimit, Mittaphap Thai-China Rd, Bangkok

Art Enthusiasts
Situated near Hualampong Railway Station in Bangkok, Wat Traimit is a temple, housing most influential golden Buddha image with 15-foot tall, comprised of 83% gold.

The image was designed in the 13th century in the Sukhothai style that is still in flavour to these days. The artisans covered the image with plaster in order to disguise it from invading armies which was then cracked while moving the image to Wat Traimit in 1955.

Nowadays visitors not only come to appreciate the image and pray at the temple but they also visit the temple to use the fortune-telling slot machines on the temple grounds by letting the machines automatically select a number and the visitors will then pick a matching piece of paper with their future.
