"Das Kino" is Salzburg's only art-house cinema. More intriguing still, an urban legend only a few people know about surrounds the movie theatre. Shortly after the Second World War, an American tank supposedly got stuck behind the cinema in the narrow Steingasse. At the time, the building was still an inn – it was only in the middle of the 20th century that it became a cinema. The story goes that the vehicle left its outline on the wall of the building. If you look closely, you can still see traces of the tank today. Can you spot them?
