ANALOGUE SUPERSTORE

ANALOGUE SUPERSTORE

Vienna

Praterstrasse 70

Supersense is a Viennese blend of concept store, experience workshop, delicatessen and bar. For founder Florian Kaps, who bought the instant film and camera brand Polaroid in 2008 and saved the company from ruin, it was clear that the store "should be an ambassador of analogue in a digital world”, a modern cabinet of curiosities. Calligrapher Sebastian Sailer produces personalised linocuts and illustrations as well as handwritten business cards on site. It’s unusual, in this fast-moving day and age, to watch him slowly write and cut. A very friendly, heavily tattooed woman takes your picture with the largest instant camera in the world. A highlight of the store, besides the espresso machine from Seattle, is the wooden Jugendstil lift – a small recording studio. Fancy a session? For 15 Euros you can make your own vinyl single. All analogue, of course.
