Mitchell Square is a tranquil and cheery square located just steps away from Bordeaux’s Public Garden and hidden from view at the end of rue Henri Rodel. And who was Mitchell? That would be Pierre Mitchell, the founder of the royal glassworks of Bordeaux, and more importantly, the inventor of the Bordeaux bottle with its distinctive straight sides and tall ‘shoulders’.
