Founded in the 19th century, the Bavarian National Museum in Munich is a rather typical museum: paintings and sculptures on the ground floor, objets d’art and porcelains one floor up. And on the third floor? A nativity scene. Actually, several. Better yet, the largest collection in the world. In all, some sixty biblical scenes are on display. However, to see them, a bit of advance planning is needed. Outside of Christmas holidays, a special request must be made to visit the third floor of the Bavarian National Museum. A bit of effort for a grand reward.
