Legend has it that the Arco Meraviglia connecting the buildings from one side of the street to the other was created in just one night and this makes it an amazing sight.
The young man built the passage joining onto his fiancé’s house and therefore finding the ideal solution to live out their love which had been thwarted by her family.
Beyond this surprising version of Romeo and Juliet, the Arco della Meraviglia derives its name from the Milanese family which was living jointly in the two buildings in 1500.
