Giardino del Guasto - Via del Guasto 7

Until the end of the twentieth century, Guasto Garden was a dump in the centre of Bologna. From the rubble of Bentivoglio Palace, an important noble building destroyed in 1507, down to scrap parts accumulated across the centuries, the area had become a hill of refuse much higher than the original one. Despite the walls around Guasto, children over time have entered at least once in their lives to go adventuring in the three thousand square metre enclosure. Inspired by them, architect Gennaro Filippini dedicated an open space where green areas alternate with concrete. Children to get involved during the construction, and some mini-walks were created, accompanied by sinuous little walls, like The Hill, a paved area with a river which runs under a cement roof, a terrace and a few embankments. Fully approved by explorer children!
