Boccadasse
There is a donkey’s mouth in Argentina, as well as in Boccadasse, one of most fascinating neighborhoods of Genoa.
The shape of the bay, with houses creeping on top of one another and a little stone beach, resembles a boca d’aze, the local term to say donkey’s mouth. Boccadasse is not only one of the oldest fishing villages of Genoa, but it is also linked to the name Boca, a neighborhood of Buenos Aires. The immigrants from Genoa not only chose the location, but also the name of the Argentine borough, inspired by the village they left and its evocative ‘donkey’s mouth’.
