Torre Branca - Viale Luigi Camoens

Just a minute away from Milan, there are the Alps, and both the Valley and the Apennines are also about sixty seconds away from the city. No, there is no teleport machine in Milan to reach the mountains or the countryside, but you can walk up the Torre Branca and hope it’s a clear sunny day. The tower, designed by Cesare Chiodi and Gio Ponti, erected in 1933 in only 68 days, is the tenth tallest building in Milan, and is found right at the center of the town’s main park, Parco Sempione. Its elevator runs up the pyramid-shaped steel tube structure, shielded in glass. In less than a minute you will reach the terrace, at a height of 109 meters, and in the blink of an eye you’ll admire the entire city, mountains included.
