Gaiola Island

Just a few breast strokes away from the Posillipo coast, there is a double islet surrounded by ancient Roman ruins (some just inches below the water): it is the beautiful Gaiola Island, once connected to the mainland by a strip of land, that was pulverized. The Neapolitans don’t have a high consideration for this island, as they believe it is cursed.
