Naples

National Museum of Capodimonte - Via Miano 2

Capodimonte, a neighborhood of Naples, is an international hub of porcelain manufacture, and is still active today. In the mid-1700s, Charles of Bourbon and his wife founded the Real Fabbrica di Capodimonte inside the homonymous Royal Palace, with the production process being followed by the king himself. Today, the museum inside the palace displays the figurines – molded with the extremely white, one-of-a-kind ceramic – representing courting scenes and shouting street sellers, as well as tableware and decorations. Furthermore, here you may admire the queen’s boudoir, entirely covered with refined ceramic panels.
