Naples

Toledo subway station - Via Armando Diaz

A museum that can be visited by subway. No, it’s not an itinerant exhibition: it is simply the stations of Naples’ metro that move passengers across a unique display of contemporary art. The most fascinating is certainly Toledo, a space that from the black of the street level turns to earth colors and then to a deep blue sea. The station also reveals a play of LED lights and other architectural creations such as the Crater de Luz (crater of light), cohabiting with the Roman ruins, the drawings of the past, and the photographs of the construction workers that have built the station. Arriving early is recommended, or you’ll most definitely miss the train.
