Kings, politicians, actors, artists, intellectuals, tourists, and all Neapolitans are united by one thing: they all stopped, at least once in their lifetime, at the Caffè Gambrinus, the historic Liberty-style café, also a pastry and ice-cream shop, born in 1860. While sipping your coffee, you will notice a large moka pot for collection of suspended coffee receipts: it was in this very bar that the tradition of paying for a coffee for a future client who couldn’t afford it had birth. The aroma of one of the best coffees in Italy has an even better aftertaste.
