BIG FISH EAT LITTLE FISH

Olbia

Via del Molo

The food chain is the main subject of the decoration of Via del Molo in downtown Olbia created by the artist Emmanuel Chapalain (native of Brittany, France).
The massive mosaic made of yellow sandstone, red porphyry, and grey basalt, surrounded by granite sampietrini, shows a succession of fish that, with their mouths open, follow a wave running after other fish. The artist used Murano glass for the fish eyes that –thanks to a LED light system – turn on at night. The mosaic ends with shells, then a tract of empty sea, and finally more fish. Follow the chain.
