Porto Rotondo, in the district of Olbia, has been inhabited for thousands of years, and an equal number of witnesses tell the details of the life of its primeval citizens. The magnificent and luxurious place we see today was instead built in the mid-1990s by two Venetians leading a group of entrepreneurs. They redesigned the hamlet building residential areas and villas, as well as launching services for tourists and locals.
Due indeed to the origins of the investors, the main square – made of conical stones forming a spiral figure – was named Piazza San Marco, just like the one in Venice.
