Villa Giulia Clock - Via Lincoln

Villa Giulia is a public garden built by Antonio La Grua, the Governor of the city, for his wife, Giulia. It is a green square of huge proportions, divided into quarters and their respective diagonals which meet at a circular central space. Amongst fountains and exedras, the park hides a very particular sundial: positioned in the centre of the gardens, it is a block of marble shaped like a dodecahedron held up by a statue which represents a crouching cupid. Each angle of the sculpture has its own sundial and each façade depicts the passage of a few hours of the day.
