THE CITY OF MUSIC

Pesaro

Casa Rossini - Via Rossini 34

Pesaro is the city of music, not only because UNESCO has recognized it as one of the hubs of making culture and creativity a key element for economic development.
Along with the Rossini Opera Festival, the Conservatory located in Palazzo Olivieri, the Pedrotti auditorium, and the Rossini theater are only a few of the most important locations of the city in which – thanks to the masters of the national and international scene – musical Pesaro comes alive.
The city’s strong tie with music and art is certainly ascribable to Gioacchino Rossini, who left the city the task to carry forward his passion. The composer – son of a singer (his mother), and a trumpeter (his father) – was in fact born in Pesaro, which hosts the historic house museum dedicated to him.
