Villa Caprile - Strada di Caprile 1

Built in the mid-1600s for Giovanni Mosca, a marquis from Bergamo who moved to Pesaro, Villa Caprile hides a true gem: a completely green theater embedded in an Italian-style garden.
Along the flights of steps that, following the natural shape of the hill, connect the three levels of the garden, there is an unraveling of fountains and waterworks hidden in the vegetation, a grove with its fruit trees, and a viridarium for the cultivation of plants to make essential oils. Finally, there is the teatrino di verzura (namely a “greenery theater”), which is not a green-painted structure, but a fair and square theater made exclusively of plant-related elements. Enclosed by an arena of cypresses, the green theater has pews and a stage, both built with plants and trees.
When sustainable building still didn’t exist, the theater in Villa Caprile had already taken it to the next level!
