Via delle Galigarie

The caliga was designed to prevent the formation of blisters, thus was the ideal walking shoe. In the main street of Pesaro, a large number of leatherworkers, called in fact galigari, manufactured this type of shoe. In their workshops or small factories, the workers reconditioned and rehydrated dry leather before performing the tanning and finishing phases.
