Arch of Augustus - Corso d'Augusto

The Arch of Augustus is an ancient Roman arch built 20 years before the birth of Christ, with the purpose of carrying the statue of the emperor Augustus and indicating the access point to the city. The location of the arch marks the end of the Via Flaminia, the road connecting Rimini to the empire’s capital, and just ahead the beginning of another road, the Via Emilia, in the direction of Piacenza. On the keystone of the arch, there is a bull’s head, representing the power of Rome, which all roads lead to, if you follow the right street signs.
