Nasoni - Via della Cordonata, Piazza Lovatelli, Via della Fontanella Borghese

There are over two thousand nasoni (literally “big noses”) across the Capital, distributing water to locals and tourists. The typical drinking fountains of Rome have a faucet that, due to its elongated shape, is compared to a nose. Most noses are in clad iron while others are in travertine marble; the drinking fountain in Via della Cordonata has three dragon-shaped faucets, while the one in Piazza Lovatelli has a special bowl for dogs; finally the nasone in Via della Fontanella Borghese is embedded in the wall of a house. The water from the nasoni is drinkable; so never forget to put a water bottle in your bag when coming to Rome.
