FUTURISM IN THE HOUSE

Rovereto

Casa d'arte futurista Depero - Via Portici 38

Rovereto is home to the only Futurist Museum in Italy, designed by one of the greatest artists of the movement: Fortunato Depero. The collection of works was donated by Depero to the city where he moved to at a very young age, and it includes the most exciting moments of the artist’s career: his beginnings in the drama world, to his famous advertisement and editorial production, to the period of time in which he lived and worked in New York. Along with temporary exhibits, the Casa d'Arte Futurista Depero (Depero House of Futurist Art) features the buxus – objects made by a local paper mill with a patented material – as well as furniture, paintings, drawings, collages, posters and playbills by the local artist.
