Castel Veneto is the name of the city castle standing atop a rock, which has dominated the landscape since the 14th century and overlooks Piazza del Podestà.
In the only example in the Trentino region of a Venetian stronghold, built by Castelbarco to express his family’s feudal power, later claimed by Venice, history becomes an immersive educational and reflective experience. The walls of the castle host the Italian War History Museum, a collection of weapons, uniforms, letters, diaries, and everyday objects from the Great War, World War II, and colonial battles.
