A road in Borgo Sacco, the statue facing the church dedicated to the Holy Trinity, and a bridge are all dedicated to the zigherane: as well as working as cigar-makers in the local production facility, the lady workers have made a strong contribution to the well-being of the entire community of Rovereto.
Thanks to work relationships based on solidarity, the workers taxed themselves to build a bridge over the Leno River and reduce commuting time to reach the factory.
The opening of a corporate daycare center – the first-ever in the Trentino region – in 1924 was another incredible accomplishment by the enlightened women.
