Villa Morlani - Via Roma 38

It’s easy not to notice Villa Morlani, both due to its position and to its less-than-flashy style. Located after Via Roma, just outside the city center, the 1400s building was once a fair and square farmstead surrounded by cultivated land.
The mansion, once belonging to the Carrara Beroa family, had a linear architecture that was modified in the 1800s to a Neoclassical style: two wings were added to the sides, a garden was built, and the façade was completely renovated.
The church of St. Elizabeth that rose right beside the villa has been the venue of a multitude of important weddings, such as the one celebrated by Giuseppe Roncalli – the future Popo John XXIII – featuring the countess Cecilia Morlani Gentile.
