Taranto

Osservatorio Meteorologico e Geofisico Luigi Ferrajolo - Via Duomo 181

For all those who regularly consult at least two Apps dedicated to weather forecasts and regularly look at the sky outside their window, Taranto has a Metereological Museum. One of the most ancient places in Italy dedicated to meteorology, the museum was shaped by Luigi Ferrajolo’s passion since childhood, when he invested his savings in a thermometer and using some shoe polish boxes and receptor objects, he built a pluviograph. As well as some other instruments for telling the time and seisms made by the founder, inside the halls there can also be found devices donated by the Marine Military and a library with books to study climate research.
