From being the Tolentini Church Convent in the sixteenth century, to barracks for Napoleonic times and then becoming the University Institute of Architecture. Restoration works of the Tolentini Convent begin in the sixties of the twentieth century, maintaining many of its original architectural elements: the monastery, the cells on the first floor and the passageway. The real modern part is the entranceway completely transformed by Carlo Scarpa in 1985. Dismantled and put in front of the entrance, the old arch-like portal becomes a fountain and is substituted by a futuristic feature. The special feature of the project created by the Venetian architect is immediately eye-catching: the architrave on the right does not have any resting point.
