Along with the Ponte del Diavolo on the island of Torcello, Ponte Chiodo has something different compared to the other bridges of Venice. By observing its structure, one can immediately recognize its particularity: it has no side protection. In fact, all bridges in Venice originally had this design, before the safety parapets were added to the stone structures. The bridge is named after the family that owned it, and still today leads to a private house. Be on the lookout for this treasure of the past, but be careful not to lean!
