From wooden arch to Art Deco jewel: this transformation marks the renaissance of the Bagno Balena (literally “whale beach resort”).
After a fire in the early 1900s, the original wooden structure of the property needed to be replaced for safety reasons. The city council for the restyling of the sea promenade approved the design by the architect Alfredo Belluomini for the new Bagno Balena.
The entrance to the resort has two floors, while four pilasters vertically divide the heavy construction into three sections. It is made even more grandiose by the pediment and the great entrance arcade leading to the resort.
The only hazard today is forgetting that beyond the shocking structure there is the sea!
