The purpose for construction of the Palazzo delle Muse (palace of Muses) was quite clear: “Theatrical representations; music academies; painting, drawing, cast, and statue auctions; selling of books by male and female poets and writers”. These have been among the most productive fields that went to form a collection of over 3,000 works by 20th-century artists.
Before becoming a place of art, the building hosted the injured and sick, as well as tourists. The preconditions are still perfectly valid, especially if you’re not in perfect shape: as well as admiring the sea, stop by and gaze at the collections of the GAMC (gallery of modern and contemporary art). They are wonderfully good for your health.
