DOME-ISH?

Tilburg

NS-Plein, Tilburg

The History of Architecture
We admit, it’s not a real dome. More of an arch-like structure with Cathedral-like features, like the magnificent glass façade. The name Koepelhal is inextricably linked to one of the most monumental buildings in Tilburg’s new city heart: De Spoorzone (Railway Zone). The Koepelhal, built in 1902, has been there for over a century and was intended for repairing carriages. This kind of repair work disappeared and that left that lovely Koepelhal! Over the years it has had different purposes: a workshop for the Dutch Railways, later a theater for many famous Dutch artists and now there are many large events. If you are going to view the dome hall, you have to check out the rest of De Spoorzone as well.
