If you passed through the Oerlikon district north of Zurich more than four years ago, you will be surprised to see the large and handsome ochre-coloured building today. Why? Because this 123-year-old building moved some 60 meters. The city did this to make room for two train tracks and a tunnel. The largest undertaking of its kind in Europe, the move took 29 hours to complete. An exploit that deserves a second look.
