Himley

The Crooked House, Coppice Mill (off the Himley Road)

The Crooked House has been quenching the thirst of many a drinker since 1830. It owes its name and distinctive appearance to 19th century mining subsidence. Spend a little time inside and you may wonder what exactly the locals put in their quality cask ale! The pub’s level floors and leaning walls create some very bizarre optical illusions. But even teetotallers will see glasses sliding slowly across the tables, not to mention marbles rolling uphill on the windowsills... Don’t worry, though, you’re not losing yours. This is all perfectly normal – by Crooked House standards anyway!
