At Admiralty Arch not far from Trafalgar Square, something will catch the eye of those who notice everything. Underneath one of the arches, a small brown nose sticks out from the wall. A nose? Yes, a nose! A number of legends exist. It is said that it is a spare for the statue of Admiral Nelson overlooking Trafalgar Square from 52 metres up in the air. It is also said that the mounted guard touches the nose for good luck when in the vicinity. In reality, the nose was affixed in 1997, along with 34 others across the city, by the artist Rick Buckley, to protest the installation of surveillance video cameras in London and the creation of a “Big Brother” society. A dozen or so noses remain. You can try to find them all. But take care: you are probably being filmed. Near Trafalgar Square
