London

Tower Bridge Rd, London

Back to nature
A veritable medieval castle in the city centre, adjacent to Tower Bridge, the Tower of London is protected not only by ramparts. For centuries it has also been protected by ravens. It was Charles II, King of England during the 17th century, who, out of superstition, decided to protect the tower from invasion with these birds of ill omen. To prevent the birds from leaving, he even had their wings clipped. The ravens are still there today. There is even a master raven keeper. Tower Bridge Rd, London SE1 2UP
