The Winterdale dairy farm dates back to 1950 – although the family that runs it have been in farming since 1495! The cheese making activity started in 2006. Their unpasteurised ‘Winterdale Shaw’ and ‘Winterdale Oak Smoked’ cheeses have won several awards and been described as “marvellous cheese” by none other than His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. Here you can visit the farm shop and working dairy where you can see the cheese making process taking place, and even meet some of the farm’s cows!
