SWEEPING VIEWS AND ANTIQUE GRAFFITI
Swansea
Oystermouth Castle, Castle Avenue, Mumbles
On a limestone hill above the delightfully named town of Mumbles sits Oystermouth Castle. You only need to see the spectacular views across Swansea Bay to realise why the site was chosen – it’s a magnificent vantage point. The castle was used as a residence by the Marcher Lords of Gower, and was frequently attacked by the local Welsh. Explore it to discover private staircases leading from vaults to banqueting halls, and a 30-foot-high glass bridge. Be sure to keep an eye out for the graffiti art dating from the 14th century.
