The Presseklub is Erfurt's best-known night spot. And inside, it is one big glittering palette of colour. A vast mirror ball hangs from the ceiling and novelty pink lights on the walls throb to the beat. Salsa night on a Wednesday is particularly popular. It kicks off at 8pm, when the pros show how all that hip action is done. Then the dance floor opens to club guests to practise their moves. If you find you can't get into the groove to start with, that's no problem: the cocktails at the bar are delicious, and they'll help you let your hair down.
