The Nordstrand is great for a bit of tropical chilling. This popular sunspot is a former gravel pit, but today it is much in demand by young Erfurters as the place to relax in their spare time. There's water skiing, diving, beach soccer and volleyball on offer here. Or you can just chillax on the sandy beach. It's not quite the seaside, but it's where to go for a dip in the turquoise water and to stretch out under a straw-covered parasol. And it's a lovely place to spend the evening, sipping a Sundowner at the beach bar. There's nowhere else in Erfurt you'll get that tropical island feeling!
