Ponte Santa Trìnita,

The graceful Ponte Santa Trìnita (holy trinity bridge), outlined by statues representing the seasons at its four corners, in reality conceals a warrior spirit. At the center of the white marble coats of arms on the central arches, you will find two ram heads, overlooking the river, facing the two opposite directions. One animal turns its mighty horn-ornate head towards the Ponte Vecchio bridge, and the other towards Ponte alla Carraia. Together, they guard the city to defend it from a menace on two fronts: a sudden overflow coming from the Casentino countryside beyond Ponte Vecchio, or on the opposite side an attack from Florence’s historic enemy: the city of Pisa. The safety door of Florence is its river.
