The Contemporary Art Museum of Trento and Rovereto is a point of reference for art lovers of the 1900s, and the dome of the new premises built in 2002 is certainly emblematic of its spirit.
As the center of gravity of the structure, the cupola covering the square below is the same size as the Pantheon’s, and indeed classical art, as well as landscaping, has been the source of inspiration for the building, even in its façades based on the design of the former 1700s premises.
Made of glass and steel, the dome converses with the surroundings, that also invade the piazza from a portion purposely left uncovered.
