SPIELBERG TRAIL

Krakow

Swoszowicka Street, Liban Quarry

If you love cinema, Cracow has something special for you. In early 1990s Steven Spielberg filmed the Oscar-winning “Schindler’s List” here. If you fancy seeing some remains of the scenography, then visit Liban, a quarry by Cracow-Plaszczow train station. Designed by Alan Starski and built in 1993, there are still 34 barracks and 11 watchtowers, which have only partially been taken down. Surrounded by tall lime walls are the remains of the fence and a path which was laid with headstones used for some of the workcamp scenes.
