MINI STATION
London
Trafalgar Square Police Box, Trafalgar Square, London
On Trafalgar Square, if you have an eye for detail, you will discover in the shade of a tree something resembling a wide telephone booth. Or perhaps a public toilet. In fact, it is the smallest police station in the United Kingdom and likely in the world. Erected in 1926, it allowed London police to monitor demonstrations, and to then transmit information to Scotland Yard via a direct line. Today, the box is used as storage for municipal services.
